Carving Through Borders

In 2014, we sent oversized woodblocks (measuring 3x7 feet) to 13 different visual artists from across the country (and one who lives abroad), asking them to carve their conceptual vision illustrating various aspects of migration—detention, deportation, displacement, discrimination—and also communities' resistance and resilience.

The result: 13 breathtaking pieces, each with incredible detail and layered messaging about the complexities of the migrant experience.

Take a look. Buy a print.

We Are The Storm

Climate change continues to have a disproportionate impact on the most vulnerable communities around the globe, including migrants and communities of color. In collaboration with Justseeds Artists’ Cooperative, we managed to forge partnerships between 22 artists and 22 frontline environmental justice organizations from around the country to create a provocative, limited-edition art print portfolio, called "We Are The Storm," to highlight the urgency of climate change.

Each piece brilliantly tells the story of a current effort by different organizations to clean and preserve our environment, educate about climate change, and inspire us all to care for the only home we currently have in this vast universe.

Until We Are All Free

Imagine a world in which all people are truly free.

For some, the idea of true freedom for all is an otherworldly idea. For us? It's the world for which we are working to create and leave to future generations.

UNTIL WE ARE ALL FREE  is an unprecedented initiative of CultureStrike and Mobilize the Immigrant Vote in partnership with Black Alliance for Just Immigration and is a racial justice initiative rooted in arts and culture. Together, Black, migrant, refugee, undocumented, indigenous, queer, and transgender communities are building solidarity by tapping into the power of art and culture to envision and to build a world defined by dignity and self-determination—for all of us.
